FITTING GUIDE
Find your Birkenstock size & fit
We offer our original footbed in two widths: Regular and Narrow.
This is to accomodate for the differences in shape between individual's feet and to provide optimum support and comfort.
Find your size by following the steps below:
STEP 1: MEASURE YOUR FEET
You need two A4 sheets of paper, a pencil and a ruler.
Place the sheets of paper on the floor. Stand straight on the paper with your heels against the wall.
Measure the width: with the help of a pencil, mark the outermost points at the left and right side of the balls of your feet.
Measure the length: mark the longest toe of each foot.
We recommend using a pencil or a ballpoint pen.
A thick pen can distort the result.
From our calculations, you may be between sizes. We recommend measuring again to check or visiting our Stores/Stockists
your ideal sandal size and width are:
Width:
NARROW
REGULAR
Left Foot
Length: 225 mm
Width: 90 mm
Right Foot
Length: 226 mm
Width: 91 mm
If are unsure about your size, we recommend choosing the next size up, as feet expand slightly during the day. This calculation is based on our size chart.
Your size specifications exceed the allowable limit. Please check your entry and try again. Or contact BIRKENSTOCK customer service so that we can help you further.
STEP 2: ENTER YOUR MEASUREMENTS IN OUR SIZE CALCULATOR
To determine the size for your sandals, please choose whether the calculation is for kids' or adults' feet and enter the measurements for each foot. You can find more information in our size chart.
Whose feet is the measurement for?
STEP 3: GOT YOUR BIRKS? CHECK YOUR FIT!
Optimum space at the heel
There should be a space of approx. 5 mm between the toes and the footbed edge.
Optimum space at the toes
There should be a space of approx. 5 mm between the toes and the footbed edge.
If your toes touch the edge of the footbed or if they jut out over it, the sandal is too small.
If there's too much space at the toes and the heel, the sandal is too big.
If the balls of the feet or the toes jut out over the edge at the sides, the sandal is too narrow.
Optimum fit of lower strap
Adjust the lower strap so that there is space of approx. 5 mm between the strap and the arch of the foot.
Optimum fit of upper strap
There should be space of approx. 5 mm between the upper strap and the arch of the foot.
Adjust straps
Walk a few steps. Should the straps be too tight or too loose, readjust them. The straps at the left and at the right foot do not necessarily have to be adjusted the same way. Check your straps again after a few days, as the upper can stretch a little over time.
Our recommendation: don't wear new sandals longer than a few hours at a time to break them in slowly.
